Job Overview
Are you a CA/CPA? Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, including cashflow reporting, bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and balance sheet reconciliations. You will play a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy, month-end and year-end closing processes, compliance, and Australian accounting standards across internal and external stakeholders.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM AEST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
Daily EFT processing and cash receipting.
Preparation of daily cashflow reports and assistance with budgets and cashflow forecasts.
Bank and credit card reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of variances.
Management of supplier payment runs.
Creation, posting, and review of general ledger entries and transactions.
Month-end and EOFY reconciliations, including general journals, intercompany journals, accruals, prepayments, and associated schedules.
Maintenance of the group's fixed asset registers.
Timely and accurate reconciliation of all balance sheet items.
Compliance reporting for key internal and external stakeholders.
Liaising with internal teams and external parties as required.
Requirements
Bachelor of Accounting or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience within an accounts team.
CA/CPA qualified or currently progressing toward qualification.
Solid understanding of Australian accounting standards, tax regulations, and EOFY compliance requirements.
Proven ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel.
