Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Makati, National Capital Region, Philippines

Minimum Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, preferably Certified Public Accountant
  2. Excellent people and management skills can lead cross-functional teams.
  3. Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases
  4. At least 5 years of experience in General Accounting in a management capacity
  5. Background in the Real Estate Industry is an advantage.
General Responsibilities:

Performs job functions consistent with the corporate vision and mission statements and the core values of the organization; ensures that subordinate employees perform their respective functions in a like manner.

Provides training and development interventions to subordinates in the form of on-the-job training and mentoring or the facilitation of formal learning sessions.

Supervises and controls planned and intervening activities of subordinate employees concerning the performance of their job functions and completion of task assignments in accordance with prescribed standards, while providing motivational approaches, appraisal, training and development, coaching, counseling, and disciplining.

Attends training programs and learning sessions for the enhancement of professional, technical, and personal proficiencies.

Performs other duties and responsibilities related to and/or implied from the above enumeration of duties and responsibilities.

Financial Accounting Responsibilities:
  1. Supervises subordinate accounting personnel in recording and maintaining accounting records; ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of recording and posting of transactions into journals and subsidiary ledgers.
  2. Reviews schedule of accounts and account codes, and accounting entries against the schedule of accounts to ensure proper classification.
  3. Reviews journal entries and month-end adjusting entries.
  4. Reviews accounts payable vouchers and related supporting documents.
  5. Prepares detailed schedule, analysis, and reconciliation of Land for Future Development.
  6. Coordinates with external auditors and ensures information is provided when requested.
  7. Reviews detailed reconciliation of inter-company transactions and adjusts entries.
  8. Reviews bank reconciliation reports monthly.
  9. Ensures the payment of fees, taxes, and licenses and the preparation of financial reportorial requirements for submission to government regulatory bodies such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  10. Updates and controls lapsing schedule of fixed assets to ensure proper valuation of properties and equipment.
  11. Submits periodic reports on the operations and activities of the work unit with corresponding analysis and recommendations.
  12. Prepares detailed analyses and schedules as needed by management.
Project Accounting Responsibilities:
  1. Reviews monthly sales summary report and related journal entries.
  2. Reviews inventory report and database.
  3. Ensures proper setting up of project costs in the books and monitors the actual costs incurred against budget.
  4. Prepares GPM analysis and Project Profit and Loss.
