We're looking for a finance-fluent functional consultant who thrives at the intersection of accounting and technology — someone who can sit with a client's finance team, understand how their books actually close, and translate that into a clean Odoo accounting implementation that survives audit and gets used daily.

Your Role

As a Functional ERP/Odoo Consultant — Finance & Accounting, you own the finance workstream from discovery through go-live and beyond, and you are the bridge between the client's controller, accountants and auditors and the solution we deliver.

You will:

• Lead requirements gathering with finance stakeholders: chart of accounts design, month-end and year-end close processes, approval matrices, and statutory reporting needs

• Configure and implement Odoo finance modules, Accounting, Invoicing, Expenses, Payroll, Asset Management, Analytic Accounting and Budgets — plus the finance-facing side of Sales, Purchase and Inventory (revenue recognition, three-way match, landed costs, stock valuation and COGS)

• Set up tax configuration and compliance: VAT/GST/SST/withholding tax, tax reports and returns, and e-invoicing regimes such as BIR and LHDN MyInvois

• Map current accounting workflows into functional specifications, gap analyses and solution designs, recommending standard Odoo over customisation wherever the books allow

• Lead opening balance and master data migration: chart of accounts mapping, open AR/AP, fixed asset registers, inventory valuation, and trial balance reconciliation to the legacy system

• Run system walkthroughs, UAT and sign-off sessions with finance users; design test scripts that cover a full simulated close

• Deliver role-based training for accountants, AP/AR clerks, approvers and management reporting users

• Prepare functional documentation: business requirement documents, configuration guides, accounting policy mapping, test scripts and user manuals

• Work with technical consultants and developers to specify reports, integrations and customisations accurately — bank feeds, payment files, tax portals, and consolidation tools

• Manage post-go-live hyper-care through the first live month-end close, resolving issues and driving continuous improvement

• Identify opportunities to expand scope within existing accounts, and support pre-sales through demonstrations, scoping and proposal input

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who genuinely understands how a set of books works — and who has the patience, communication skills and technical depth to turn complex finance operations into streamlined Odoo workflows.

Ideal candidates will have:

• CPA license highly preferred (PH CPA, or equivalent such as CA, ACCA, CMA)

• 3–5+ years in ERP functional consulting, finance systems implementation or accounting operations, with meaningful exposure to Odoo, or a qualified accountant moving into systems work

• Hands-on configuration experience in Odoo Accounting and adjacent finance modules (v14 and above preferred)

• Strong command of core accounting: general ledger, AR/AP, fixed assets, intercompany, multi-currency, cost accounting, and the full close cycle through to financial statements

• Working knowledge of local tax and statutory reporting in at least one market (Philippines, Singapore or Malaysia), and comfort learning others

• Strong requirements-gathering and stakeholder management skills across finance, operations and executive levels

• Proven ability to run multiple implementations simultaneously with minimal supervision

• Excellent written and verbal English, including the ability to explain system behaviour to accountants and accounting logic to developers

• Experience preparing functional documentation, test plans and training materials

• Comfort in a remote-first, fast-paced consulting environment

Highly valued:

• Odoo certifications (Functional or Technical)

• Audit or external-audit background, or experience supporting auditors through a system transition

• Experience with Odoo Studio, custom modules, or third-party integrations (bank connectors, payment gateways, tax portals)

• Exposure to AI-powered workflows, automation tools or cloud platforms

• Industry depth in distribution, manufacturing, retail or professional services

• Prior experience with clients in the APAC region.
