He/She will act as a subject matter expert (SME), mentor junior DBAs, and drive strategic initiatives in database technologies and operations. Database Administration and Support
Lead the management, maintenance, and monitoring of database systems (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Establish and enforce best practices in database administration and operations.
Drive strategic database initiatives to improve reliability, scalability, and performance.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior DBAs and technical staff.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization

Lead capacity planning and resource allocation for database systems.
Analyze complex system resource usage and recommend architectural improvements.

Security and Compliance
Define and enforce database security protocols, including access controls, encryption, and audit trails.

Conduct advanced security audits, vulnerability assessments, and implement remediation plans.

Automation and Scripting
Design and implement advanced scripts and tools to automate database administration tasks.
Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for database provisioning and management.
Explore and introduce emerging database technologies and frameworks to the organization.

Collaboration and Process Improvement
Partner with development teams to optimize database queries, schema designs, and application integration.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and reduce operational bottlenecks.
Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance database reliability, operational efficiency, and system scalability.

Database Design and Architecture
Lead the design and implementation of database schemas and architectures based on business requirements.
Plan and execute complex database migrations and upgrades while minimizing downtime.
Drive long-term strategies for database growth, maintenance, and lifecycle management.

Incident Management and Reporting
Provide expert-level support for Level 2/3 database incidents and service requests.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, policies, and resolutions.
Act as the escalation point for critical database issues.

REQUIREMENTS:

6+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
Extensive expertise in managing relational and non-relational databases.
In-depth knowledge of database management systems, performance tuning, and high-availability configurations.
Hands-on experience with cloud-based databases and platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Proficiency in database programming languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL).
Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
Advanced database architecture and design principles.
Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for large-scale environments.
Enterprise-level query optimization and database performance tuning.
Security and compliance best practices for databases.
Emerging trends in database technologies and cloud computing.
