Who We Are
Bramble is an enterprise SaaS platform that provides operational insight into people and process performance. We achieve this through a data-driven focus on results - not employee surveillance.
We're a remote team with members across the USA, EU, Asia and Australia. You can work from anywhere, though we have a small office in Makati for occasional collaboration.
You'll work directly with our founders and engineering team to build and scale our SaaS platform. We value well-tested, clean code and expect our engineers to take ownership of their work - from initial design through deployment and production support.
What We Offer
- Flexible schedule with limited collaboration hours (overlap with EU/AU core hours, occasional US-East availability)
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- Remote-first, meeting-light, async-first environment
- Significant autonomy and direct founder collaboration
Our Stack
- Backend: Elixir, Erlang/OTP, Phoenix, PostgreSQL, Oban, ETL
- Frontend: TailwindCSS, LiveView, HEEX, TypeScript
- Infrastructure: AWS (EKS, RDS, S3, SQS), Pulumi, Dagger
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver complex features spanning multiple contexts; own critical components from conception through production
- Write exemplary, well-tested code that serves as a reference for the team
- Optimise performance across application, database, and infrastructure layers
- Design and maintain REST APIs; ensure security and compliance requirements are met
- Identify technical debt and advocate for strategic improvements
- Contribute to architectural decisions; mentor engineers through code review and pairing
- Participate in on-call, incident response, and customer conversations
- Leverage AI assistants effectively to accelerate complex work
Required
- 5+ years Elixir/Phoenix in production (or equivalent functional language depth with strong Elixir proficiency)
- Expert SQL - schema design, query optimisation, performance tuning
- Advanced Phoenix LiveView with solid JavaScript/TypeScript and CSS fundamentals
- Strong REST API design experience; architectural judgment for context boundaries and domain modelling
- Production operations - debugging live systems, performance profiling
- OTP concepts: GenServers, Supervisors, processes, fault tolerance
- Security-conscious mindset with compliance understanding
- Linux expertise; effective use of AI coding assistants
- Excellent communication and proven remote autonomy
Preferred
- Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi, Terraform) and Kubernetes operational experience
- Stream processing (Broadway, GenStage) and background job architectures
- Tailwind and component-based development
- Track record mentoring engineers; enterprise security/compliance experience
