Business Unit Head

About the role

LEC Steel Manufacturing Corp. is seeking an experienced Business Unit Head to lead and manage one of our key business operations. This is a full-time position based in Quezon City, Metro Manila. As Business Unit Head, you will be responsible for driving strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial performance of your assigned business unit. This role is crucial to our organisation's growth and success, requiring a leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on operational management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business strategies aligned with corporate objectives to drive revenue growth and market share expansion
• Manage P&L responsibilities including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to achieve financial targets
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence and continuous improvement
• Oversee operations, including production, quality control, supply chain and logistics to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers and stakeholders to support business development
• Monitor market trends, competitive landscape and industry developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
• Implement operational systems, processes and controls to optimise efficiency and profitability
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, safety standards and company policies
• Report regularly to senior management on business performance, challenges and strategic initiatives
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the business unit

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Management or a related field; MBA or equivalent qualification is preferred
• Minimum 8-10 years of management experience, with at least 5 years in a business unit head or similar senior leadership role
• Proven track record of successfully leading and scaling business units or divisions with P&L responsibility
• Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage budgets, improve margins and drive profitability
• Excellent strategic thinking and business planning skills with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans
• Outstanding leadership and people management capabilities, with experience in building and motivating teams
• In-depth knowledge of the steel manufacturing or related heavy industrial sectors is highly desirable
• Strong operational management skills including production, quality, supply chain and process improvement
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and business intelligence tools
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
