BASIC FUNCTIONS: The EDI (Enterprise Data Intelligence) team is a data warehousing team. We cater to various internal teams to provide analytics for key decision making in the organization. We use the following technologies to provide these benefits to our stakeholders - Python, YAML, Json, SQL, Git, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, HPCC, Essbase/OCI and Power BI. The EDI Data Operations Guild takes on the responsibility of managing and upkeeping the data infrastructure and processes within the EDI team. Our main objective revolves around ensuring that our data assets remain available, integral, and secure.
The team supports the developers and stakeholders and is responsible for the operations and maintenance of all things in the EDI team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Hands-on experience in database technologies including Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong primary expertise in Python language. Other technologies include YAML, JSON, and XML parsing using Python.
  • Intermediate Office skills for at least 1 year.
  • Good communication skills, to convey errors in pipelines and resolutions to our developers and stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud technologies like ADF.
  • Knowledge about Power BI and Essbase – to add new users, data connections, or debug any issues.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Establish relationships with all internal groups, so that our developers are proactively aware of any data issues.
  • Ensure all data pipelines are run as expected every day.
  • Coordinate with developers in LNRS to define and prioritize work, ensuring that our users and stakeholders are aware of all data issues, remediations, and delays in services.
  • Respond with urgency to both internal and external inquiries.
  • Create requirement documents and markups for developers to code future automated pipelines and data tables.
  • Ensure assigned projects are completed within schedules while meeting business objectives.
  • Perform system administration for multiple Windows machines – disk cleanup, patches, installing new software, and remediating vulnerabilities.
  • Provide accurate administrative, data, and operational support to our Insurance, Finance, Business Services, and Core Systems stakeholders and developers.
  • Understand the entire life cycle of the data that is being processed in the team.
  • Run the team's release process that makes changes to production tables, based on our developer's needs, to provide features to our stakeholders every week.
  • Own a specific set or group of data transfers in various capacities including collection setup, data transfer setup, contributor/customer setup, etc.
