Join our Transcom Family as a Compliance Officer for Privacy

The Compliance Officer for Privacy plays a critical role in ensuring the organization adheres to data privacy laws and regulations across all jurisdictions where Transcom operates. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of data privacy frameworks. The Compliance Officer will work closely with the Data Protection Officer, Regional Lead, Data Privacy, and/or Global Head of Operational Risk Management to implement and maintain privacy compliance programs, conduct privacy risk assessments, and support data protection initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Data Privacy Compliance:
    1. Develop, implement, and maintain data privacy policies and procedures.
    2. Conduct data privacy risk assessments, audits, and compliance reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
    3. Monitor regulatory changes in data privacy laws and recommend necessary policy updates.
    4. Manage data subject requests, including access, rectification, erasure, and data portability.
    5. Collaborate with business units to ensure alignment with privacy compliance requirements.
    6. Investigate and respond to data breaches and other privacy incidents, including:
      1. Conducting preliminary investigations into suspected data breaches.
      2. Collecting evidence and documentation related to privacy incidents.
      3. Supporting internal and external communications during data breach responses.
      4. Assisting in the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
    7. Conduct privacy gap analyses and recommend corrective actions.
    8. Proactively identify and assess emerging data privacy risks within the region.
  2. Data Protection & Security Support:
    1. Implement and maintain appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal data.
    2. Support lawful, fair, and transparent data processing activities.
    3. Maintain records of processing activities (RoPA) and other compliance documentation.
  3. Training & Awareness:
    1. Assist in the development and delivery of data privacy training programs for employees.
    2. Promote privacy awareness and compliance across the organization.
  4. Reporting & Documentation:
    1. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of data privacy compliance documentation.
    2. Support the preparation of reports and dashboards related to data privacy compliance.
    3. Contribute to the achievement of data privacy compliance objectives within the region.
    4. Support the timely resolution of data subject requests.
What we are looking for:

To be successful in this role you must have…

  1. Bachelor's degree in Law, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent professional certifications in data privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT) are a plus.
  2. 1-3 years of experience in data privacy compliance, risk management, or a related field.
  3. Good working knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and local regulations.
  4. Strong understanding of data protection principles.
  5. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage audiences at all levels.
  9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Skills:
  1. Experience with data privacy technologies and tools.
  2. Project management skills.
  3. Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
Work Experience:
  1. DPO ACE Level 1 Certified or its equivalent.
  2. At least three (3) years' experience as Compliance Officer for Privacy, preferably in a BPO environment.
