Job Summary:

• Primarily responsible for managing the initial stages of the supply chain within the warehouse, focusing on the receipt, inspection, documentation, and storage of all incoming goods and materials. This ensures inventory accuracy and that products are ready for subsequent storage. or order fulfillment processes.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Unloading Shipments: Safely unloading incoming goods and merchandise from delivery trucks, containers, or other vehicles, often using equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Receiving and Inspection: Verifying the quantity and quality of delivered items against purchase orders, invoices, or advanced shipping notices (ASNs). This involves checking for damages, defects, or discrepancies and immediately reporting any issues to the warehouse supervisor.
• Documentation and Data Entry: Accurately recording all incoming shipments and product data (e.g., lot number and serial numbers) into a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or inventory software to maintain real-time, accurate inventory records.
• Labeling and Sorting: Ensuring all received items are properly labeled and sorted for efficient storage or cross-docking.
• Put-Away: Moving and organizing the incoming inventory to designated storage locations within the warehouse, optimizing space utilization and ensuring proper stock rotation (e.g., following First-In, First-Out or FIFO principles).
• Inventory Control Assistance: Assisting with regular inventory counts and audits to reconcile physical inventory with system records.
• Safety and Cleanliness: Adhering to all workplace health and safety rules and procedures, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized receiving area and work environment.
• Equipment Operation: Operating and performing preventive maintenance on warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Order fulfillment: Accurately picking products from storage, packing them securely, and preparing them for shipping according to customer orders and schedules.
• Quality and accuracy: Performing final quality checks on packed orders to prevent errors, damage, or incorrect items being shipped.
• Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicating and cooperating with supervisors, co-workers, suppliers, and carriers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any inbound-related issues.
