The Qualifications We Seek

Essential Experience & Skills

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including substantial hands‑on experience in delivering and maintaining frontend and backend production systems
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React, with practical experience in Next.js
• Strong understanding of responsive UI development, state management, and API integration
• Strong proficiency in Python and practical experience with AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3
• Strong ability to design and debug REST APIs
• Proven hands‑on experience using AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, or similar tools in real‑world software development
• Ability to provide context, guide implementation, debug issues, and critically review and test AI-generated code
• Experience integrating LLM APIs into applications, with an understanding of unreliable model outputs, error handling, and confidential data protection
• Strong knowledge of Git and code review practices
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions, Jest, React Testing Library, and pytest

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Mantine, Auth0, AWS Amplify, PostHog, Docker, Yarn, and uv
• Experience with PDF processing, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and vector search
• Experience evaluating AI output quality, latency, and cost
• Experience with LLM tool calling, structured outputs, conversational or voice interfaces, and partner system integrations
• Familiarity with PHP, Kirby CMS, SCSS, and jQuery for occasional work on existing systems
