  1. Diagnose mechanical defects in various vehicles and equipment (e.g., pickup trucks, dump trucks, tractors, cranes, bulldozers, excavators, etc.).

  2. Determine the extent of needed repairs and inspect used parts to assess usability or need for replacement.

  3. Overhaul, repair, and adjust engines, transmissions, brakes, clutches, differentials, axles, suspension, ignition, electrical, and computerized systems.

  4. Repair and replace tracks on bulldozers and adjust grader blades and loader bucket assemblies.

  5. Perform welding and repair instrumentation.

  6. Rebuild hydraulic pumps and repair electronically controlled devices on heavy equipment.

  7. Use test equipment and shop tools to perform repairs.

  8. Overhaul exhaust systems and make emergency field repairs.

  9. Perform routine maintenance and servicing of equipment, including tire changes and repairs.

  10. Provide temporary relief for other classifications as needed.
