DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Seeks vendors that offer a combination of quality products and services at an acceptable price level, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Reviews proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Visits vendors to assess their capability when necessary.
  • Oversees the purchase of materials to fill the needs of those orders that are based upon forecasted requirements through purchase orders.
  • Negotiates upscale accounts.
  • Approves Purchase Orders.
  • Recommends approval of new suppliers for accreditation.
  • Checks and approves the List of Accredited Suppliers.
  • Monitors/reviews performance of suppliers.
  • Coordinates with suppliers for any issues, concerns, or improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluates performance of subordinates.
  • Assists the Purchasing Manager with the daily operations of the department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

  • Graduate of any 4-year business course.
  • Preferably with 5 years of related work experience.
