Position Summary

The IP Medical Coder is responsible for assigning diagnosis and procedure codes to patient types using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS or any other designated coding classification system in accordance with coding rules and regulations.

Patient Types: Low acuity inpatient, OB/NB, acute psych, 1-day stays.

Responsibilities
  • Abstract required clinical information from the medical record.
  • Code diagnoses and procedures accurately, including modifiers, and resolve coding edits.
  • Respond to audits and make necessary changes to coding of accounts based on agreed findings.
  • Adhere to the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by AHIMA.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience performing inpatient medical record coding.
  • AHIMA or AAPC coding credentials (CPC, CIC, CCS) required.
Work Setup and Location
  • Work-from-home
  • Location: BGC, Taguig
  • Shifting schedule (morning shift / mid shift) with 2 consecutive rest days
