Summary of Role:
The Corporate Accountant is responsible for the financial health of the local office, overseeing the overall accounting function including processing payroll, month end accounting, variance analysis, and compliance related filing. This role ensures that the local office adheres to local and global financial regulations, supporting Anthesis Group's sustainability goals through prudent financial management. Reporting administratively to the Country Managing Director, and functionally to the APAC Finance Senior Leadership Team, you will be expected to provide strategic financial insights while overseeing the financial health of the local office by managing day-to-day accounting operations, including sales and purchase ledger, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations, banking, accruals, and prepayments. This role ensures that financial operations align with Anthesis Group's sustainability mission, by being involved in all aspects of the accounting function, including but not limited to daily transactional tasks as well as the within the view of the preparation and submission of management accounts, monthly P&L, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Management Accounts:- Produce timely and accurate management accounts in accordance with set deadlines, including the preparation of monthly P&L, balance sheets, and variance analysis.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis, comparing actual performance to budget and providing insights for management decision-making.
- Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required for Group Finance.
- Oversee the purchase ledger, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Manage sales ledger activities, including invoicing, payments, and customer account reconciliations.
- Oversee bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining accuracy and completeness in financial records.
- Calculate and complete monthly intercompany recharges, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Reconcile intercompany positions, maintaining clear and accurate records across different entities within Anthesis Group.
- Import and validate timesheets bi-monthly for payroll processing.
- Process payroll in accordance with company policies, legal and tax regulations.
- Ensure accurate processing of new hires, terminations, and adjustments.
- Reconcile payroll data, ensuring correct calculation of wages, deductions, and entitlements before submitting for review.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Stay updated on payroll legislation and regulatory changes.
- Ensure the timely and accurate filing of all local tax returns, adhering to local regulations and minimizing the risk of penalties.
- Maintain extreme attention to detail in all compliance tasks and routine financial work, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Group standards and Philippine government regulations.
- Liaise with auditors and other external parties during the local audit, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Assist with the group audit, ensuring that the local office's financial records are aligned with Anthesis Group's global standards.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelors' degree in Accountancy – CPA required
- With 5+ years of corporate accounting experience with a strong understanding of local payroll & statutory processing, tax regulations, and business compliance requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of Philippine financial standards and audit processes, with proven experience ensuring regulatory adherence.
- Netsuite / ERP/ Payroll systems experience required; experience on Sprout system a plus.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Confident using complex formulas.
