Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Handles recording of transactions and preparation of related working papers during the monthly and year-end closing of books of accounts.
  • Prepares the fairly stated financial statements and inputs to financial performance monitoring/management reports.
  • Timely submits statutory reports in compliance with regulatory requirements (BIR/SEC).
  • Prepares and manages budgets, financial forecasts and resources.
  • Analyzes significant fluctuations on PL and BS accounts.
  • Assesses new requirements for accounting compliance and governance reporting and facilitates development of framework, methods and processes for adoption and implementation.
  • Handles the preparation of accounting positions for issues that involve interpretations, judgments and estimates.
  • Ensures the maintenance of appropriate business processes, controls and supporting structure necessary to facilitate accurate and complete capture, processing, aggregation, interpretation and conversion of business and financial information as inputs to the general ledger accounts that make up the financial statements.
  • Develops, implements and maintains internal controls for financial and tax reporting.
Tax Compliance:
  • Ensures timely and accurate tax filings and reporting, retention of books and other documentation.
  • Assesses new requirements for tax compliance and facilitates development of framework, methods and processes for adoption and implementation.
  • Handles submission of required schedules and analyses required by the external audits.
  • Manages financial and tax audits.
  • Identifies potential issues, provides recommended treatment and coordinates resolution.
  • Identifies areas for further improvements; initiates documentation of new and improved processes.
Organizational Capability:
  • Maintains professional accounting skills and knowledge of relevant accounting standards in order to perform the job in the best manner possible.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development activities as relevant, to maintain and enhance skills and abilities.
Work Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial reporting and regulatory compliance, 2 years of which are spent in a managerial function.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical/distribution/retail and/or audit firm is preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
  • Graduate of BS Accountancy, or CPA is an advantage, preferably BOA accredited.
  • Strong background in financial reporting, analysis and tax reporting and compliance.
