Solar Project Survey and Design Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Project Survey Stage
    • Assist professionals in conducting on-site surveys of the proposed sites for distributed roof-mounted photovoltaic projects. This includes collecting basic information such as the geographical location, topography (whether it is a mountain, plain, roof, etc.), and surrounding environment (nearby buildings, transportation facilities, water sources, etc.) of the site. For example, when inspecting a roof-mounted photovoltaic project, accurately measure the area, slope, and orientation of the roof to provide data support for subsequent designs.
    • Pay attention to the meteorological conditions of the site, such as sunshine duration, average temperature, precipitation, wind speed, and other meteorological data. These data are crucial for evaluating the power generation efficiency and stability of the photovoltaic system. Historical meteorological data can be obtained from the local meteorological department, or short-term data can be obtained by installing small meteorological monitoring equipment on site.
    • Understand the land nature and land ownership of the site. Ensure that the project land complies with the requirements for the construction of photovoltaic projects and avoid project obstruction due to inconsistent land nature (such as basic farmland and other prohibited construction areas) or land ownership disputes.
    • Record and organize various information during the survey in detail, including text records, photography, and video recording. Text records should include key information such as site dimensions, obstacle locations, and the location of existing power access points; photos and videos can more intuitively display the actual situation of the site. For example, for a site with obstructions, photograph the height, angle, and shadow range of the obstructions at different times of the day.
    • Initially sort the collected information and prepare a simple survey report or information summary table. Classify the data according to a certain logic, such as site conditions, surrounding facilities, meteorological data, etc., to facilitate subsequent designers' reference and use.
  2. Project Design Stage
    • Assist designers in the preliminary design of the photovoltaic system. Based on the information collected during the survey, help designers determine the selection of photovoltaic modules (such as monocrystalline silicon, polycrystalline silicon, or thin-film modules), installation methods (fixed, tracking, etc.), and installation locations. For example, in a mountain project, assist designers in selecting appropriate support types according to the topographical characteristics to ensure that the photovoltaic modules can receive sunlight to the greatest extent.
    • Participate in some assisting work in the electrical design of the photovoltaic system, such as assisting in calculating the scale of the photovoltaic array, the selection and configuration of inverters, and the routing and specifications of cables. Provide basic data support for electrical design based on the site's power demand and expected power generation, combined with local grid access conditions.
    • Assist designers in preparing simple design drawings, such as photovoltaic module layout diagrams and electrical wiring diagrams. During the preparation process, accurately mark dimensions, equipment models, line routings, and other information. These drawings are important bases for project construction and need to ensure their accuracy and standardization.
    • Conduct a preliminary review of the design drawings, check whether the drawings match the survey information, and whether there are annotation errors or logical contradictions. Promptly communicate with designers and assist in making modifications when problems are found to ensure the quality of the design drawings.
