Endoscopy Technician

Responsible for maintaining and/or repairing endoscopic equipment in the Operating Room Complex and Recovery Room that adheres to the Standards of the hospital.

Technical Responsibilities

• Prepares and sets up the Operating Room Complex endoscopy room by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in order
• Assists the nurse in performing endoscopic procedures by providing technical support and maintaining a sterile field
• Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes endoscopic equipment and ensures compliance with infection control protocols of the hospital
• Retrieves and processes specimens for laboratory analysis, ensures proper documentation and storage
• Assists with patient positioning and comfort during endoscopic procedures and ensures their safety and well-being
• Assists with the troubleshooting and maintenance of endoscopy equipment and coordinates repairs when necessary
• Adheres to all safety protocols and maintains a clean and organized work environment

Other Responsibilities and skills

• Knowledge of endoscopic procedures and equipment, including colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and bronchoscopy
• Proficient in setting up and operating endoscopy equipment, including video systems, endoscopes, and related accessories
• Maintains a sterile field and follows infection control protocols.
• Performs tasks accurately and efficiently in the sterile field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team
• Prioritizes tasks and adapts to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment of the Operating Room Complex
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Familiarity with safety procedures and adherence to regulatory guidelines of Infection Control

Requirements

• NCII certificate from TESDA
• Completion of an accredited Endoscopy Technician program or equivalent training.
• Certification as an Endoscopy Technician is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a healthcare setting in an endoscopy unit
• Willing to work in Arca South, Taguig City
