Amazon is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented US Payroll Analyst to join our Payroll Operations group. The ideal candidate will process payroll on weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly cycles across multiple states, while performing various technical tasks including data compilation and analysis. This role requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations. The successful candidate will provide essential support to management and employees on payroll-related matters and thrive in our fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Process payroll using vendor software and maintain data accuracy
  2. Audit payroll data and review employee timesheets
  3. Handle manual checks, stop payments, reversals, and paycheck card entries
  4. Process and validate employee payroll information
  5. Manage check distribution and respond to employee inquiries
  6. Perform deep dive analysis to identify process improvement opportunities
  7. Implement KAIZEN and LEAN methodologies to enhance systems and procedures
  8. Support payroll team and cross-train in various functions
  9. Perform ad hoc payroll projects and activities as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
  2. Either:
    1. 1+ years of payroll or related experience, OR
    2. Fresh graduate with Latin honors
  3. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
  4. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  5. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays
  6. Must be willing to work onsite 5 days per week
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 6+ months US Payroll experience
  2. Project Management experience
  3. Multi-region payroll experience
  4. Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus
