Job Description
The Systems and Applications Specialist serves as the subject matter expert for assigned systems and applications, ensuring their optimal performance through maintenance, backups, and security measures. The specialist collaborates with stakeholders to document business requirements, performs system updates, and executes change management processes. Additionally, he or she will provide Tier 1 support, conduct user acceptance testing, and develop programs to improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize assigned systems and applications.
- Plan and execute maintenance, backup, and recovery operations.
- Implement security measures and monitor system health.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
- Manage change approval and deployment processes.
- Provide Tier 1 support to end users.
- Conduct user acceptance testing and ensure quality of deployments.
- Develop scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in programming, databases, web design, system and application maintenance, and exposure to the primary duties specified.
