AboutTheRole

AsaPrincipalSoftwareEngineeratRosterfy,youarethemostseniorindividualcontributorintheengineeringteam,responsibleforsettingtechnicaldirectionwhilestayingdeeplyhands-on.Youworkacrossourtwoproductsquadsasaforcemultiplier:designingarchitecture,pairingonhardproblems,andunblockingdeliveryoncriticalinitiatives.ReportingtotheHoE,youconnectproductstrategytoimplementationdetail,ensuringtheclient'sv3(event-driven,domain-driven,AI-augmented)isrobust,scalable,andmaintainableacrossourPHP/Laravelbackend,Next.jsfrontend,andAWS/GCPinfrastructure.Youspendasignificantportionofyourtimebuilding(coding,reviewing,debugging,pairing)whilealsoshapingengineeringstandards,architecture,andlong-termplatformevolution.Youdonotmanagepeopledirectly;instead,youleadthroughtechnicalexcellence,influence,andmentoring.

KeyResponsibilities

• Ownthearchitectureandtechnicaldirectionforcoreplatformdomainsusedbybothsquads(e.g.event-drivenworkflows,modularboundaries,AIcapabilities).
• Spend60-80%ofyourtimehands-on:designing,coding,reviewing,pairing,anddebugginginLaravel,Next.jsandourcloudenvironments.
• Leadthetechnicaldiscoveryanddeliveryofhigh-impactinitiatives,especiallythosethatcrossteamboundariesorrequiresignificantarchitecturalchange.
• Mentorseniorandmid-levelengineersthroughdesignreviews,pairing,andfeedback,helpingthemownsystemsend-to-endratherthantakingworkaway.
• Actasaseniorengineeringvoiceinroadmapplanning,estimationandtrade-offdecisions,ensuringtechnicalhealthisrepresentedalongsideproductgoals
• Worksacrossbothproductsquadsratherthanbeingembeddedinoneteam,focusingoncross-cuttingsystemsandthehardesttechnicalproblems.
• PartnerswiththeEngineeringLeadershiponlong-termarchitectureandwithTechLeadsonexecutionandengineeringpractices.
