About the role
We are looking for an experienced Python Developer to design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance backend applications and RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Python, FastAPI, Docker, AWS, CI/CD, and API security.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications.
Develop and manage containerized applications using Docker and Docker Compose.
Deploy and maintain applications in AWS environments using established CI/CD pipelines.
Work with AWS CodePipeline and CodeDeploy for application deployment.
Implement API versioning, authentication, authorization, error handling, and security controls.
Implement API security using JWT and OAuth2.
Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Optimize application performance and database queries.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and secure development practices.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field - NON-NEGOTIABLE
3-5 years of hands-on experience in Python development - NON-NEGOTIABLE
Strong experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI - NON-NEGOTIABLE
Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles, API versioning, and exception/error handling - NON-NEGOTIABLE
Hands-on experience with Docker - NON-NEGOTIABLE
Hands-on experience with Docker Compose and multi-container environments - NON-NEGOTIABLE
Experience with AWS - NON-NEGOTIABLE
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly AWS CodePipeline and CodeDeploy - NON-NEGOTIABLE
Experience using Bitbucket for version control - NON-NEGOTIABLE
Experience implementing API security using JWT and OAuth2 - NON-NEGOTIABLE
Strong knowledge of:
PostgreSQL
MongoDB
Experience working in enterprise software development environments.
Knowledge of coding standards and secure development practices.
Experience with code review processes.
Good understanding of application security and secure coding principles.
Experience in banking, financial services, or fintech is highly preferred.
