Project Development Officer

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead Electrical and Interconnection related activities for the department while supporting other departments.
  • Keeping abreast and familiarity with ongoing and upcoming NGCP transmission development plans.
  • Provide all relevant engineering technical support required for transmission and substation development.
  • Prepare necessary permits (e.g., service contract, ECC, SIS, BOI registration, etc.) in coordination with the different internal and external stakeholders/ government agencies, map out timeline and required budget.
  • Monitor pre-construction activities and permitting requirements to ensure alignment with business strategy, target timeline and budget; identify risks and initiate quick and effective resolution.
  • Establish and maintain good relations with project partners/proponents, host communities, related local government and other stakeholders.
  • Engage with various contractors and consultants for necessary works and studies (e.g. EPC, OE, third party technical assessment, etc.) for the projects; coordinate with different internal stakeholders (e.g., project execution, finance, legal, procurement, etc.) during contract discussion and negotiation.
  • Prepare technical due diligence/feasibility assessment reports and recommendation on land acquisition opportunities and other planned projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in project development or project management in the energy industry; deep understanding of NGCP projects and processes.
  • Must be resourceful, has initiative and sense of urgency
  • Must be willing to travel to projects sites
