• Prepare culture media and reagents used in analysis.
• Participate in quality programs such as proficiency, inter- and intra-lab testing, blind and parallel testing.
• Retain all records of data related to tests and results, in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices, including the use of reagents and equipment.
• Comply with the established Quality Management System, PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements, and other regulations.
• Follow established quality assurance and control programs.
• Submit, in a timely manner, job order reports to the Microbiology Section Head for review and approval.

• Perform purity checks of reference cultures and monitor environmental conditions of microbiology rooms.
• Perform culture transfers, preservation, and maintenance of reference cultures.
• Oversee cleaning by laboratory aides.
• Perform Growth Promotion Testing (GPT) of new culture media batches.
• File documents related to reference cultures.
• Update inventory of lyophilized reference stock cultures and inform TSH for replenishment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Technical Section Head or General Manager.

• Operate all equipment in the Microbiology section.
• Use Labware (LIMS) for batching, encoding, and authorization of test results.
• Use FLEX for purchase encoding and PO requests.
• Perform specific tests as authorized.
• Act as Deputy – Technical Section Head for reporting, reviewing, and certifying microbiological results, and oversee laboratory operations in the absence of the Section Head.
