WHAT IS A LEAD BACK-END DEVELOPER?

We are looking for a seasoned, hands-on Experienced Lead Backend Software Developer to join our Software Delivery team. This role involves overseeing significant portions of our application development processes and making architectural contributions to enhance our software solutions. The ideal candidate will be deeply involved in the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment, and will ensure that our applications are robust, efficient, and scalable.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES?

1. Back-End Development:
   Lead and contribute to the development of robust and high-performance backend solutions using Spring Boot, the core framework for our API services.
   Contribute 90% of your time to hands-on development, while dedicating 10% to mentoring and guiding a small team of developers.
   Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in a dynamic environment, ensuring APIs remain reliable as the central point of our architecture.
2. System Architecture and Innovation:
   Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient API architectures to support the application.
   Stay curious and explore new frameworks or technologies to continuously improve performance and expand capabilities.
   Actively contribute to the ongoing transition from Docker containers to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), leveraging expertise in container orchestration.
3. Agile Collaboration:
   Work closely with the Orchestra Software Product team during daily stand-ups and sprint planning to align backend development with product goals.
   Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate APIs with front-end, database, and cloud systems seamlessly.
4. SDLC and Tooling:
   Use Azure DevOps for managing the software development lifecycle, including ticketing, repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments.
   Support Agile methodologies, ensuring iterative and collaborative development processes are followed.
5. Cloud Integration and Deployment:
   Leverage Azure Cloud services to optimize backend performance and scalability.
   Design APIs and services with cloud-native principles, ensuring they are well-suited for Azure-hosted environments.
6. Passion and Industry Insight:
   Exhibit a genuine passion for backend development and problem-solving, with a drive to deliver high-quality software.
   Knowledge of the telecom industry, including CDR file processing or telecom billing, is a strong advantage.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2. Over 10 years of proven experience in backend development, with significant expertise in Java and Spring Boot for building APIs.
3. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to address and resolve complex API and backend issues effectively.
4. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, especially Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
5. Proficiency in Azure DevOps for managing development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments.
6. Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure Cloud, for hosting and optimizing backend services.
7. Expertise in Agile methodologies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and iterative development processes.
8. Passion for exploring new technologies and frameworks to enhance backend capabilities.
9. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor team members and foster collaboration.
