What will you do?

As our new Senior Water Engineer, you'll be a vital part of the team who are tackling and managing challenging water projects across a project lifecycle, with strong focus on planning, strategizing, options development, design and construction support. Your role will include working with major Water Utilities across Australia to support the full project lifecycle from inception to handover. Your responsibilities include:

• In association with the Technical Director, planning, design and implementation of complex engineering solutions to meet client needs. Interpret client scope and communicate solutions and options clearly to the client.
• Recommend final design submittals including basis of design, technical specifications, plans and layouts, and provide expert guidance for safe, innovative designs. Lead safe and sustainable design initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring efficient delivery in complex environments and risk management.
• Set and meet client service expectations and deliver value in the area of specialization. Develop deep insight into the client business and share this knowledge with colleagues.
• Scope and convert additional work with existing clients and identify opportunities with new clients. Contribute to client relationship building and winning work.
• Provide mentoring and support to emerging professionals in the team. Develop leadership capability and technical eminence through Aurecon programs and mentorship from Design Directors, Expertise and Practice Leaders.

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our passion for re-imagining engineering and actively pursue continuous learning. You will also need the following:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar
• Extensive experience (10-15 years) in the relevant field; detailed design delivery is highly desirable
• Experience in Design Management of medium-size projects or packages/facilities
• Civil Design lead of municipal water and wastewater treatment infrastructure
• Proficiency in networks design and pumping systems (Water & Wastewater)
• Skilled in Hydraulic Engineering (open channel and closed conduit)
• Ability to instruct junior engineers, designers and drafters and provide engineering and quality assurance as a reviewer across all deliverables
