Job Title: Finance Supervisor
Department: Finance
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Finance Controller
Location: Paranaque City
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Overview:

The Finance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the distribution business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. This role involves managing financial risks, developing strategies to improve profitability, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Finance Supervisor will collaborate closely with department heads and the executive team to drive financial performance and support the business's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
    Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    Lead the annual budgeting process, working with department heads to develop realistic and achievable budgets.
    Monitor and update financial forecasts regularly to reflect changes in the business environment.
    Track budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  3. Cash Flow Management:
    Oversee cash flow planning and ensure the availability of funds to meet operational needs.
    Manage working capital, including inventory levels, receivables, and payables.
    Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and reduce financial risks.
  4. Cost Control:
    Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to control expenses.
    Monitor operating costs and assess their impact on profitability.
    Work with procurement and other departments to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
  5. Compliance and Internal Controls:
    Ensure compliance with local and national financial regulations and reporting requirements.
    Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
    Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
  6. Financial Strategy and Planning:
    Contribute to the development of financial strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
    Provide financial analysis and modeling for strategic initiatives and projects.
  7. Team Leadership and Development:
    Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
    Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and support.
    Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the finance team and with other departments.
  8. Retail-Specific Responsibilities:
    Analyze sales data and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as gross margin, inventory turnover, and sales per SKU.
    Collaborate with the operations team to optimize pricing, promotions, and inventory management.
    Support store expansion, relocations, and closures from a financial perspective.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite user is an advantage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of retail business operations and industry-specific financial metrics.
