Job Overview: The GA Specialist will be responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling financial statements and accounts, and ensuring data accuracy. The position involves analyzing and ensuring accuracy of data. Success in the role requires a candidate to be detail-oriented, organized, and accurate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure Data Accuracy: Checks data accuracy. Conduct audits to maintain truthful and precise data in documents and records.
  2. Analyze Financial Information: Analyzes and interprets financial information, providing assurance that information complies with professional and regulatory standards. Ensures that data supports budgeting and forecasting requirements, and provides solutions to control issues.
  3. Ensure Completion of Key Monthly and Annual Close Processes: Records information such as accrual, deferral, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries into the company's accounting ledger. Prepares journal entries relating to amortization, depreciation, accruals, inventory among others. Performs account analysis to make sure that entries and balances are correct. Ensures coordination of input to meet monthly and annual "hard" closing deadlines. Works closely with Finance to ensure the books are aligned with forecasts and reports.
  4. Reconcile Accounts: Reconciles accounts with the general ledger. Ensures that all entries are accurate and that transactions are reported in accordance with accounting standards and government regulations. Makes the necessary changes when errors are found.
  5. Support statutory year-end audit processes.
  6. Provide other miscellaneous or ad-hoc accounting related tasks.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has 3-5 years of experience in Corporate Accounting & Finance, with preference to small company/start-up, entrepreneurial enterprises.
  • Must be a CPA/CMA equivalent.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, time management skills, ability to prioritize, and adapt to change.
  • Excellent oral communication and organizational skills.
  • Desire to be a self-starter who will see opportunities to add value beyond an assignment and will run projects through to completion.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to modify procedures or resources to fit the needs of the task or situation.
  • Willingness to perform under pressure when deadlines call for swift action.
  • Capable of learning and recalling important job functions and processes that may occur infrequently.
  • Ability to multitask without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Collaborative and effective in working with different leadership styles and a variety of individuals within the organization.
  • Ability to learn multiple software programs.
  • Handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.
  • With SAP Business One experience.
