Job Description
A Meter Reader Specialist is responsible for accurately reading and recording utility meter data, ensuring timely and precise billing. The role involves inspecting meters for damages or irregularities, reporting issues, and maintaining updated records. Meter readers often travel to various locations and may interact with customers to address basic inquiries.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to walk long distances and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills.
- Familiarity with handheld devices or meter-reading equipment.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to identify and report potential safety hazards.
