About the role
The CAD Specialist prepares, revises, and maintains CAD drawings, shop drawings, and engineering layouts for civil and structural projects. The role involves interpreting engineering calculations, specifications, technical standards, and project requirements to develop accurate drawings, and coordinating with engineers, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure drawing accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
Key responsibilities
Prepare, revise, and maintain CAD drawings, shop drawings, and engineering layouts for civil and structural projects.
Interpret engineering calculations, specifications, technical standards, and project requirements to develop accurate drawings.
Produce reinforcement detailing, bar bending schedules (BBS), and rebar shop drawings based on approved structural designs.
Modify and update drawings to reflect design changes, site conditions, and project requirements.
Coordinate with engineers, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure drawing accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
Review engineering and construction data to ensure compliance with approved design plans, building codes, and company standards.
Assist in the preparation and management of engineering documentation, design revisions, and technical records.
Store, organize, and maintain electronic drawing files and project documentation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical guidance.
Conduct site visits when necessary to gather data and verify project conditions.
About you
Graduate of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Drafting Technology.
Proven experience as an AutoCAD Operator in rebar detailing works.
Minimum 1-2 years of AutoCAD rebar detailing experience required.
At least 3 years experience in civil/structural projects such as bridges, buildings, or foundations.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) and related drafting software.
Proficient in MS Office Applications.
Knowledge of structural steel reinforcement standards and codes.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
Proven experience in concrete and/or structural steel design.
