Network Engineer

The Network Engineer (NE) is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's networking systems across all locations. This role ensures network reliability, performance, and scalability by managing routing protocols, hardware/software upgrades, and server availability. The NE also handles FortiGate firewall troubleshooting, configures automatic backups, and ensures compliance with internal and client SLAs through proper monitoring, documentation, and reporting.

• Design, implement, and maintain network systems, equipment, and software-defined network layouts.
  
• Oversee hardware and software upgrades to optimize performance and scalability.
  
• Configure and maintain routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EBGP) to ensure high availability and efficient traffic routing.
  
• Maintain server systems and networks to meet availability, performance, and capacity requirements.
  
• Configure and manage automatic backups for all networking equipment and configurations.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to FortiGate Firewalls.
  
• Monitor and manage operational service levels, including SLAs, documentation, tracking, and reporting.
  
• Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and clients to deliver reliable and secure networking solutions.
  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  
• 5+ years of progressive experience in IT systems engineering, management, or operations.
  
• Proven expertise in configuring Firewall ACLs, VPNs, OSPF, EBGP, iBGP (FortiGate, networking gear, VMware NSX).
  
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies: TCP/IP, routing/switching, MPLS, SD-WAN, and network security.
  
• Ability to design, analyze, and plan network-related projects.
  
• Skilled in managing SLAs and service-level reporting.
  
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  
• Excellent time management and task prioritization.
  
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, JNCIE, CISSP) highly desirable.
