We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cashier. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling transactions, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. Your role is essential in ensuring a smooth and efficient shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service.
- Process transactions accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and issue receipts.
- Bag customer purchases and assist with carry-out as needed.
- Answer customer inquiries and direct them to appropriate areas for assistance.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cashier station and surrounding areas.
- Monitor and manage register balances and assist with cash reconciliations at the end of shifts.
- Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds according to store policies.
- Assist with inventory restocking and store maintenance tasks as needed.
- Follow store security protocols to prevent loss and theft.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
- Strong numerical and mathematical skills for handling cash and transactions.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when processing payments and handling merchandise.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic understanding of point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus but not required.
