We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee the efficient functioning of our warehouse. In this role, you will be responsible for directing and supervising the receipt, storage, and dispatching of goods, while ensuring optimal inventory levels and timely order fulfillment. You will lead and manage a team of warehouse staff, oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment, and implement safety and sanitation protocols. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of warehouse operations, and a commitment to maximizing productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Operations:
    • Oversee the entire warehouse operation, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
    • Ensure efficient and accurate inventory management, including stock control, rotation, and cycle counting.
    • Implement and maintain warehouse layout plans to optimize space utilization and workflow.
    • Oversee the safe and efficient use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of warehouse staff, providing clear direction and performance expectations.
    • Delegate tasks effectively and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
    • Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Implement and maintain an effective inventory management system to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize stockouts or overstocking.
    • Oversee the receiving process, ensuring accurate verification and documentation of incoming goods.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of customer orders, including picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Coordinate with transportation providers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Monitor order fulfillment metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Continuously evaluate warehouse processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
    • Implement lean principles and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Analyze warehouse data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Order Fulfillment Accuracy: Track the percentage of orders fulfilled accurately and without errors.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Measure the accuracy of inventory records through cycle counting and audits.
  • On-Time Shipping Rate: Monitor the percentage of orders shipped on time.
  • Warehouse Capacity Utilization: Track the efficient use of warehouse space.
  • Cost per Order: Calculate the cost of fulfilling each order, including labor, materials, and overhead.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar leadership role within a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Deep understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Certification in warehouse management or logistics.
