Financial Accountant is responsible for conducting preparation, review, and analysis of financial transactions and activities. You will be in charge of monitoring, recording, maintaining, and closing accounting books and tax reporting schedules to provide better interpretation of data and confidence in the reports (such as financial statements, account schedules, variance analysis). You adhere to accounting policies and procedures and tax rules and regulations by the respective government agencies in all transactions to ensure that the standard reporting requirements are met. You will observe internal control policies, as applicable.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the responsibilities and processes of the Financial Accounting team, conduct training and coaching with the team, and evaluate the performance of the Financial Accounting Team.
  • Review, validate, and approve all transactions to ensure that system records are accurate, updated, and recorded based on the approval matrix.
  • Identify proper account classifications and treatment and conduct timely checks of various recorded transactions in the general ledger.
  • Prepare comparative analysis of accounts (budget versus actual) and monthly schedules of identified accounts.
  • Prepare financial statements/management accounts in accordance with the accounting standards monthly and interpret financial statements ratio monthly.
  • Initiate tax filing as necessary and ensure compliance with tax rules and regulations, recommending tax-saving initiatives.
  • Observe proper cut-off periods for various accounting transactions and ensure financial transactions are recorded in line with the Company's policy and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership and management abilities, overseeing accounting teams, ensuring efficient operations, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Proficient in using advanced features of MS Excel for financial analysis and accounting software for facilitating efficient bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
  • In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure compliance with global and local accounting frameworks.
  • Knowledgeable in tax laws and regulations, including VAT, income tax, and tax filing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance.
  • Must have experience in reconciling company bank statements, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring that all transactions are accurately reflected in financial records.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, derive insights, and provide actionable recommendations for business improvement.
