Role description:

This role will be responsible for using technical knowledge and experience to apply technical and practical engineering production skills in a BIM environment for typically larger and more complex projects. You will lead a team in BIM model and drawing production for a single discipline in coordination with the BIM Manager and discipline lead. Responsibilities include model delivery, ensuring compliance with project and company standards, and meeting clients' Exchange Information Requirements (EIR). You will also coordinate clash reports and resolution activities, support the development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans, and assist in project delivery strategy.

Role accountabilities:

  • Delegate the workload to modellers from other disciplines and coordinate clash detection and resolution activities.
  • Provide oversight on workflow within the project and coordinate with the BIM Manager regarding any found issues.
  • Support engineers with issues related to drawing standards and the use of BIM software, mentor BIM modellers with queries, and assist with modelling when required.
  • Coordinate with lead engineers and other disciplines, set up/develop new BIM model projects, and maintain workability and efficiency.
  • Perform QA/QC on technical drawings before handing them over to the BIM Manager for final checking, ensuring the latest model is always up to date and correctly stored in the collaborative project management system.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture or equivalent courses/technical certification relating to BIM.
  • Preferably 8 years of experience working with relevant BIM software on multi-discipline BIM projects.
  • Job experience in a design consulting firm is required.
  • Overseas experience is an advantage (work in other countries or project design outsourcing company).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
