The IT Specialist supports the daily operations of the IT department by maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network systems. This role ensures smooth and secure technology operations across retail stores, warehouses, and head office. The IT Specialist works closely with the IT Manager and cross-functional teams to support system upgrades, resolve technical issues, and ensure IT infrastructure aligns with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware (desktops, laptops, POS systems, printers) and software (Windows, MS Office, POS applications).
Maintain and monitor company networks (LAN/WAN), Wi-Fi systems, and internet connectivity across branches.
Assist in the setup and configuration of new hardware and software systems for new store openings or rollouts.
Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and data backups.
Monitor cybersecurity protocols, ensuring protection against viruses, malware, and data breaches.
Support inventory systems, retail software, and database management.
Document IT procedures, maintain asset inventory, and generate reports for IT Manager.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for system repairs, licensing, or procurement.
Ensure adherence to IT policies, compliance standards, and best practices.
Assist in training staff on new systems or software as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in IT support or systems administration, preferably in a retail environment.
Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, including POS systems.
Knowledge of networking protocols, Active Directory, Windows Server, and Office 365.
Experience with retail applications, database systems, and IT security protocols is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills, customer service orientation, and attention to detail.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or store visits.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Work Arrangement:
Monday to Friday (On-site)
8am-6:30pm, 9am-7:30pm, or 10am-8:30pm
