Squadzip is the Digital Extension of the Office, a platform that serves as a central reporting hub for all types of customer interactions, face-to-face interactions, video calls, voice calls, messaging, and more. We are looking for a few energetic, driven individuals to help us spread this movement across the world.

We're building a reliable, secure, and scalable DevOps infrastructure to support our growing applications. Our team focuses on automation, cloud efficiency, and security best practices while ensuring smooth deployments and system reliability. We run on AWS, Docker, and CI/CD automation, and we're continuously improving our cloud infrastructure, security, and database performance. This is an AWS & Security-Focused position. Responsibilities:

  1. AWS Infrastructure & Security
    - Follow AWS Well-Architected - learn, measure, and build using architectural best practices.
    - Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure (Fargate, ECS, ECR, EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch and others).
    - Implement IAM best practices, access control, and security logging.
    - Monitor system logs, security alerts, and cloud compliance tools to maintain a secure environment.
    - Research current and existing technologies for potential use.
    - Help troubleshoot and fix problems in production.
  2. Containerization & CI/CD
    - Manage Docker containers and optimize AWS Fargate workloads.
    - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeCommit.
    - Conduct security scanning (e.g., Trivy, AWS Inspector) on container images.
  3. PostgreSQL & Database Operations
    - Deploy and maintain automated backups.
    - Configure connection pooling and security.
    - Implement PostgreSQL read replicas for scaling.
    - Monitor database performance and ensure secure database configurations.
  4. Security & Monitoring
    - Maintain AWS Security best practices, including encryption, logging, and monitoring.
    - Implement network security controls (VPC, security groups, firewall rules).
    - Automate security checks and proactively identify vulnerabilities in cloud workloads.

Nice-to-Have Skills (Big Plus, but Not Required):

  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Memcached.
  • Experience with AWS WAF, GuardDuty, or security auditing tools.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of Redis & Memcached performance tuning.
  • Scripting experience in Bash, Python, or Ruby.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Preferably with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 1 year of experience in AWS DevOps, Infrastructure Security, and Automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and AWS.
  • Experience with AWS IAM policies, security logging, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong experience in CI/CD pipeline automation (AWS CodePipeline or similar).
  • Comfortable with Linux and Linux CLI.
  • Experience with Linux system administration & cloud networking.

As a Junior Cloud Engineer/DevOps, you'll be responsible for assisting in the setup, maintenance, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure. This role will provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and a growth trajectory in the dynamic world of cloud computing and DevOps. Key Responsibilities: Assist in Cloud Infrastructure Management: Help in designing, deploying, and managing basic cloud setups. Coordinate with development teams to understand and address infrastructure needs. Support Continuous Integration (CI): Assist in automating and improving the development and deployment processes under guidance. Collaborate with the development team to streamline code integration and delivery. Basic Monitoring: Learn and use monitoring tools to keep track of system health and performance. Assist in analyzing system logs to identify issues. Security Basics: Understand and help implement basic security practices under supervision. Backup Assistance: Aid in implementing and testing backup solutions.
