We are looking for a talented and dedicated Database Operations Engineer to join our team at LeapXpert. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our database systems, ensuring their performance, security, and reliability. You will work closely with our engineering teams to design scalable and highly available database architectures, optimize performance, and implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies. Your expertise will be crucial in helping us meet compliance standards and shape data governance practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain data stores such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and others.
• Manage data stores version upgrades and patching.
• Perform system monitoring and capacity planning.
• Optimize database performance, including indexing, query tuning, and data modeling.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Design and implement scalable and highly available database architecture.
• Implement security best practices across data stores.
• Help shape data governance practices.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Collaborate with other engineering teams and foster a collaborative and supportive environment.

Your Skill and Experience

• At least 5 years of experience managing database operations.
• Hands-on experience managing MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases is a must.
• Proficient in SQL and MongoDB queries and functions.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code managing database infrastructure is a strong plus.
• All-around experience including PaaS, containerized, and bare metal preferred.
• Familiarity with standards such as ISO 27001, SOC2, and GDPR is a strong plus.
• Process-oriented, proactive, and results-oriented, able to deliver outcomes effectively.
• Data-driven, you use a rigorous, data-centric methodology to validate hypotheses and illustrate concepts.
• Excellent communication skills, able to connect with engineers and other stakeholders.
