At Atlan Stormwater, our purpose is simple: clean water is a right, not a privilege. Our team is driven by innovation, collaboration, and a shared commitment to bring “Joy in Water”—creating solutions that improve lives, protect communities, and shape a more sustainable future.

1. Role Purpose

Leads financial, management and cost accounting and owns the monthly close across the Australian, New Zealand, US and Philippine entities. Fully remote role based in the Philippines, on day-shift hours aligned to Australian business hours, reporting to the Financial Controller in Australia. Delivers accurate, reviewed results, reliable balance sheets and inventory valuations, and a team that runs the close without escalation.

2. Key Accountabilities

  • Close: Own the monthly, quarterly and year-end close and deliver reviewed results by business day 3, with extended hours at close.
  • Financial accounting: Journals, reconciliations, intercompany, fixed assets and entity reporting under AASB. Balance sheet fully reconciled with aged items cleared. Prepare audit inputs; the Financial Controller owns tax and audit positions.
  • Cost accounting and inventory: Standard costs, overhead absorption, inventory valuation, COGS and variance analysis, reconciled to the general ledger. Recommend standard-cost changes for Financial Controller approval.
  • Management accounting: Cost-centre and profit-centre reporting. Provide reconciled actuals, variance commentary and margin data to FP&A.
  • Team leadership: Lead the Management, Financial and Cost Accountants. Set priorities, review all outputs before Financial Controller sign-off, and maintain documented procedures with a named backup for every critical task.
  • Partnering and systems: Work with Shared Services on cut-offs and remotely with Australian operations on costing inputs; occasional travel to Australia may be required. Improve NetSuite workflows and controls and remove manual work.

3. Selection Criteria

  • Essential: Philippine CPA (PRC-licensed), CA ANZ, CPA Australia, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Essential: 8+ years’ post-qualification experience, including at least 3 years leading an accounting team and a multi-entity month-end close.
  • Essential: Strong written and spoken English; confident with senior Australian stakeholders.
  • Essential: Proven ability to work independently and deliver in a remote role.
  • Preferred: Manufacturing standard costing: standard costs, overhead absorption, inventory valuation and variance analysis.
  • Preferred: Experience in an Australian manufacturing business, or in a manufacturing business reporting to an overseas parent.
  • Preferred: NetSuite, Power BI, AASB and Australian GST/BAS exposure.

4. Attitude and Values

  • Always find a way: a can-do attitude; solves problems at source rather than escalating them.
  • Be driven: owns outcomes end to end, moves at pace and closes loops.
  • Hungry, humble, smart: wants to improve, takes direct feedback and uses sound judgement on materiality.
  • Live the system: follows the standard, improves it and never works around it.
  • GWC: gets the role, wants it and has the capacity to do it.
