Job Overview:
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement and management of all materials, supplies, and products necessary for Bo's Coffee's operations. This role involves ensuring that all necessary inventory is available in a timely manner while managing costs, vendor relationships, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Management:
    Oversee the purchasing of raw materials, packaging, equipment, and other supplies.
    Ensure the availability of necessary inventory while preventing overstocking or stockouts.
    Monitor and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  2. Vendor Relations:
    Establish and maintain strong relationships with current and potential suppliers.
    Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to optimize purchasing costs.
    Work closely with vendors to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  3. Inventory Control:
    Coordinate with the operations team to maintain proper inventory levels and order frequencies.
    Implement inventory tracking systems to minimize waste and overstock.
    Regularly review stock levels and lead times to anticipate future purchasing needs.
  4. Budget and Cost Management:
    Work within allocated budgets, ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies.
    Monitor and manage purchasing expenses to maintain financial goals.
    Develop strategies for cost-saving without compromising quality.
  5. Supply Chain Coordination:
    Collaborate with the logistics and operations team to streamline the supply chain process.
    Work to resolve any supply chain issues that may arise, including delays, quality concerns, and discrepancies.
    Forecast purchasing needs based on production schedules and market trends.
  6. Compliance & Sustainability:
    Ensure that all purchased goods meet Bo's Coffee's standards for quality and ethical sourcing.
    Stay updated on industry trends, including sustainability initiatives, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  7. Reporting & Documentation:
    Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
    Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and contracts.
    Analyze purchasing data to improve procurement strategies and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and processes.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge or interest in the coffee industry and sustainability is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position based at Bo's Coffee Headquarters.
  • Occasional travel to supplier sites or stores may be required.
  • Flexible working hours may be necessary to accommodate various time zones of suppliers.
