Job Title: Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant provides comprehensive support to both our clients and the internal team. This role entails focusing on bookkeeping weekly and ensuring up-to-date accounts for clients at all times as well as addressing client queries promptly and efficiently. You will play a pivotal role in facilitating the flow of information between clients and our firm.

Job Qualifications:

  • Open to applicants anywhere in the Philippines ONLY. (Non-negotiable: Must have own equipment and stable high-speed connection for applicants outside Cebu)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Xero Adviser and Payroll Certified
  • 3–4 years of experience handling Australian accounts and BAS
  • Experience in preparing and lodging BAS is highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines
  • Extensive experience as a Bookkeeper
  • With a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in processing and completing Xero accounts, reconciliations, payroll, and BAS
  • Weekly bookkeeping and bank reconciliations for client groups
  • Processing payroll for clients and sending client payment instructions regularly
  • Contacting clients with weekly bookkeeping queries and keeping records up to date
  • Processing periodical superannuation guarantee amounts using Xero and ATO platform
  • Manage Hub Doc/Dext - Receipt bank reconciliation with Xero records weekly
  • Prepare Month-end reports for the Principal Accountant
  • Timely Account Receivables and Payables reconciliation
  • Preparation of payroll tax returns for various states
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements (BASs) and Installment Activity Statements (IASs) along with detailed work papers
  • Prepare FBT and provide salary packaging information
  • Prepare invoices for clients and ensure all work is accurately billed
  • Participate in external and internal training as required
  • Ensure that all work is error-free and professionally presented and complies with financial procedures and systems
  • Maintain current and accurate files and record and date any actions and detailed file notes
  • Recording accurate timesheet entries for all tasks
  • Other ad hoc duties as requested
