Job DescriptionDescription

The Excavator Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating an excavator to perform various tasks on construction sites, including excavation, grading, and material handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Excavation:
    1. Dig trenches, foundations, and other excavations as per site plans and specifications.
    2. Accurately grade and level ground surfaces.
    3. Load and unload materials such as dirt, rock, and debris.
    4. Assist in the installation of utilities (e.g., pipes, cables).
  2. Safety and Maintenance:
    1. Conduct pre-operational and post-operational inspections of the excavator.
    2. Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
    3. Communicate any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
  3. Site Coordination:
    1. Coordinate with other workers on site to ensure safe and efficient operations.
    2. Follow instructions from the site supervisor and engineer.
  4. Other Duties:
    1. Assist with other construction tasks as needed.
    2. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements

Experience:

  1. Minimum 1-3 years of experience operating excavators.
  2. Experience with excavators preferred.

Education:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Valid driver's license.

Skills:

  1. Strong understanding of excavation techniques and safety procedures.
  2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
  3. Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands:

  1. Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  2. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  3. Ability to work in physically demanding positions for extended periods.
