To provide technical support to Affinity Sales in terms of underwriting, pricing and preparation of master policy contracts. To be able to generate competitive quotations, both new business and renewals without sacrificing underwriting profitability.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning Inputs. Keep abreast of relevant business, market, technology, industry development/trends and government regulations and effectively uses information in aid to achieve division goals.
  • Underwriting. Assesses risks exposures/insurability of prospect group accounts and recommends appropriate underwriting strategies, loading, rating for accurate pricing. Reviews schedule of plan benefits designed by Affinity Underwriting Supervisors, customized to the needs of prospect group clients. Recommends to Affinity Head improvements in the pricing and group underwriting guidelines, necessary in the generation of competitive new business quotes and renewal negotiation of expiring accounts.
  • New Business Installation. Implements measures to ensure that client's submitted documents comply with the KYS requirements of AMLA. Reviews final proposal of a newly closed group accounts prepared by subordinates to reflect the agreed schedule of benefits, price, terms and conditions.
  • Customer Service. Addresses inquiries and concerns of call-in clients.
  • Staff Development. Takes an active role in Performance Planning and Appraisal (PPA) process, as prescribed in the PPA policies and procedures. Keeps abreast on external and internal opportunities for skills development and training.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be a graduate of bachelor's degree course, preferably of any Business or Math Course.
  • An MBA or advanced qualifications or certifications related to Underwriting/Insurance is a plus.
  • With ten (10) years' experience in group insurance operation, preferably in pricing
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Keen attention to details
  • Collaborative, Agile and Resourceful
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
