About the role

Here in Wee Community Developers, Inc., the Communications Officer is a key contributor to the organization's outreach and engagement efforts, responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies that articulate the organization's mission, values, and initiatives. This role involves crafting compelling content for press releases, newsletters, and social media, while also managing public relations and fostering relationships with media outlets and stakeholders.

What you'll do

  1. Develop engaging press releases to communicate key updates, initiatives, and events tailored to target audiences.
  2. Craft informative newsletters to keep stakeholders and the community informed about organizational activities and successes.
  3. Prepare in-art for marketing collateral (brochures, flyers) that aligns with the organization's branding, ensuring consistency in tone and style.
  4. Create media kits and manage a comprehensive media contact database for effective outreach.
  5. Collaborate with leaders to develop a crisis communication plan that outlines strategies for effective communication during emergencies.
  6. Establish protocols for internal and external communications during a crisis, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  7. Monitor media coverage, industry trends, and competitor activities to identify communication opportunities and threats.
  8. Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop integrated communication strategies that leverage team strengths.
  9. Ensure all communications adhere to brand guidelines for consistent recognition.
  10. Recommend actionable strategies to enhance communication efforts in alignment with organizational goals.

What we're looking for

  • Graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Multimedia Arts, Graphics Design, Visual Communication or any business-related course
  • With at least three (3) years of related working experience; experience in the real estate property development industry is a plus
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in public relations and media relations, with a solid understanding of communication best practices.
  • Ability to think strategically, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in communication tools and analytics platforms to measure effectiveness and guide strategy.
  • Willing to start as soon as possible
