Job Purpose

Process already-captured claims efficiently and accurately by applying relevant criteria to ensure standardisation across the organisation, enabling decision-making on claims.

Responsibilities

Customer Management (Internal)

Assist in managing customer requests by carrying out standard activities to complete them effectively.

Data Collection & Analysis

Ask questions, collect data from various sources, analyse information, and investigate claims. Make decisions based on established criteria to ensure standardisation, accurately administering and underwriting claims. Use appropriate tools to accurately cost claims daily.

Work Scheduling and Operational Compliance

Organise your work schedule to complete tasks promptly, coordinate with support services, and ensure work is completed within SLA. Finalise claims within set parameters, maintain up-to-date product knowledge for effective decision-making.

Administration

Produce, update, and support claims administration processes and departmental systems in line with policies, rules, and SLAs.

Correspondence

Respond to routine requests via phone or email (internal and external).

Document Management

Create, organise, and maintain files related to policies and claims.

Document Preparation

Prepare and review claim documentation for completeness, enter claims data into systems, and process payments for small claims. Calculate claim quantum, attach relevant information, and transmit claims for further investigation.

Contact involved parties to obtain missing information, review policies for coverage, and manage detailed records using computers. Provide customer service, including instructions on claims procedures or referrals.

Finalise claims and communicate outcomes to customers. Transcribe client conversations, issue vouchers, load messages, and complete requests. Refer complex cases to Loss Adjusters, arrange salvage collection, and manage related documentation.

Education

Matric

Experience

At least 1 year in the Financial Services industry, Call Centre experience, STI certification (advantageous), Claims experience (advantageous), and 2-3 years in Customer Service (advantageous).
