Data Architect Manager

The Data Architect plays a key role in designing, implementing, and managing scalable data architectures that support our customer's business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, database design, cloud-based data solutions, and data governance. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data architectures.
  2. Design and develop the overall logical and physical data architecture for the customer's data warehouse and/or data lake.
  3. Define data models, including star schema and 3NF, to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
  4. Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, considering factors like query performance, data volume, and storage costs.
  5. Develop and implement data management strategies, including data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
  6. Work closely with business and IT teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  7. Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, business intelligence SMEs, and AI SMEs to ensure data integration and ETL processes align with the defined data architecture.
  8. Review and provide feedback on data mapping documents, data quality rules, and data profiling results.
  9. Develop and maintain data lineage and metadata documentation.
  10. Stay abreast of emerging data architecture trends and technologies.
  11. Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing performance.
  12. Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  13. Design and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data pipelines.
  14. Select appropriate data technologies and tools to meet business needs.
  15. Provide guidance and best practices on data modeling and database design.
  16. Work with cloud-based and on-premises data solutions, including relational and NoSQL databases.
  17. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and developers to enhance data accessibility and usability.
  18. Conduct workshops and training sessions to educate teams on data architecture principles.
  19. Document data architecture solutions and processes for future reference.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or similar role.
  3. Strong proficiency in database management systems (SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
  4. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services.
  5. Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is a plus.
  6. Familiarity with data governance and regulatory compliance.
  7. Proficiency in data modeling tools (Erwin, Lucidchart, etc.).
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  9. Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker (nice-to-have but not mandatory).
