By virtue of the Concession Agreement, AF Payments Inc. shall be responsible for the maintenance of Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 AFCS infrastructure equipment installed at the three (3) Light Rail Network. The Rail AFCS Operations & Maintenance is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operation on all Level 1 and Level 2 AFCS infrastructure equipment. The Rail AFCS Lead Technician (LT) is generally responsible for performing multi-craft functions which include technical electronics, electrical, civil and mechanical engineering works, and carry out day-to-day maintenance on AFCS equipment determined by the AFCS Maintenance Plan. This position ensures maintenance performance requirements are met in accordance with the Concession Agreement of the Automatic Fare Collection System (AFCS) installed across the Metro Manila Light Rail Network, the Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 (LRT 1 and LRT 2) and the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT 3); and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between each Rail Public Transport Operators (PTOs), Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), and the Department of Transportation - Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (DOTr-MRT3). This position also ensures project implementation personnel and test and commissioning personnel performance are met in accordance with specific project requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities(1) Advance Rail AFCS Operations and Maintenance
  • Inspect AFCS equipment to identify any issues
  • Repair faulty equipment units
  • Conduct periodic quality checks on AFCS equipment and peripherals to ensure everything is up to standard
  • Perform general corrective maintenance tasks by detecting AFCS equipment faults aimed at restoring operational conditions
  • Perform general preventive maintenance tasks by carrying out maintenance activities at predetermined intervals or according to prescribed criteria aimed at reducing the failure risk or performance degradation of the equipment
  • Identify functional or operational issues and seek resolution from the Immediate Supervisor
(2) On Supporting Roles:
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Form part of the project implementation team
    • Repair, install, and inspect as directed through verbal or written directions, diagrams, drawings, or specifications
    • Ensure local and national electronic, electrical, mechanical and civil codes are followed and proper materials are used throughout the AFC system
    • Manage and install cables and wiring, splicing as needed
    • Perform safety checks to ensure design plans are feasible in various conditions
    • Report potentially dangerous electrical equipment to supervisor and take steps to resolve the issue
    • Instruct employees regarding safe working procedures and requirements when working with AFCS equipment and components and adhere to the site safety plan requirement of the project
  • Form part of the test and commissioning team
    • Conduct test and commissioning works as directed through verbal or written directions or specifications
    • Identify functional, integration or operational issues
  • Perform shop maintenance related duties as assigned

Education and Work Background

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an equivalent position; however, fresh graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply
