DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Legal Research and Presentation:

  • Conduct legal research and applicable laws and jurisprudence on various issues concerning the concession of the company.
  • Prepare legal opinion and/or memorandum on matters that need to be addressed by the company.
  • Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management.

Draft Correspondence and Legal Documents:

  • Draft necessary pleadings concerning toll rate adjustments.
  • Draft letters to various government offices in relation to the concession.
  • Ensure that the key issues and needs of the company are addressed.

Represent the Company:

  • Attend various meetings with various government offices and advocate on behalf of the company to said government agencies and other organizations.
  • Work collaboratively with other organizations and networks where appropriate.
  • Liaise with other legal services.

Contract Drafting and Review:

  • Draft and/or review contracts and agreements and monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare drafts for contracts and/or amendments/revisions to existing contracts.
  • Review proposed contracts to ensure that the interests of the company are well-protected and sufficiently covered.
  • Compare and contrast different contracts entered into by the company and suggest revisions.

Others:

  • Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, as well as internal policies and guidelines.
  • Identify potential legal and regulatory issues that may pose a risk, in order to negate or mitigate any liability against the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Law or a closely related field.
  • Specialized knowledge: Must have excellent knowledge and understanding of Philippine laws and jurisprudence.
  • Skills: Excellent judgment and analytical skills; excellent time management skills; strong prioritization and organization skills; exceptional communication (oral and written) in drafting high-value legal documentation; presentation skills; exceptionally good skills in legal negotiation such as mergers and acquisitions, tender bidding, and contract negotiations; technical skills, including experience in developing, maintaining, and revising management procedures and processes; proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Abilities: Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from project/operations and requiring coordination with other units; ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines; ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures; ability to work as a team member and independently.
  • Other characteristics: Strong attention to detail; proactive in problem-solving; maintains professionalism at all times; trustworthy; ability to work with minimal to zero supervision.
  • Professional Certification: Philippine Bar Exam Passer.
  • Experience: Four to five years of working experience in a corporate legal capacity within a fast-paced, evolving environment, or related experience preferred with more than 3 years supervisory experience; successful experience leading negotiations on complex, high-value contracts and agreements; experience in litigation is an advantage.
  • Willing to be assigned in Balintawak, Caloocan City, North Edsa, Quezon City, or Ortigas.
