Job Profile and Description:

The Project Engineer's job is to plan the company's outside service project to ensure that smooth work implementation will be achieved with the satisfaction of the customer through fulfilling the promised commitment with quality output. He is also tasked to monitor the progress of work through daily updating to complete the job on time at the least expected cost, and also providing the customer progress report, timely feedback, and close coordination so that possible opportunities will be generated and to capture customer confidence and ultimately their trust.

The Project Engineer will also take the role of facilitator, supporter, and strategic planner. It is a senior role that involves overseeing the production or the provision of services to clients. He will make sure an organization is running as well as it possibly can, with smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of customers and clients.

Summary of DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Project Supervisor will ensure the optimal performance of an organization's overall operations, which include:

  1. Drive Operational Excellence
    • Set the pace by guiding a team's effort to ensure the right processes are being utilized in the right manner.
    • Supervise/Manage and direct operations to achieve business targets.
    • Make decisions and recommendations when the division is faced with operational difficulties.
    • Assist in developing or updating standard operating procedures for all business operational activities.
    • Ensure the team follows standard operating procedures for all operational functions.
    • Supervise and guide the operations team on business operations and problem-solving skills.
    • Recommend quality assurance programs.
  2. Client Engagement
    • Interact with both internal and external clients to identify current processes that are in place and teach them about best practices and improvements.
    • Build strong relationships by addressing customer issues and complaints in a timely manner.
  3. Project Management
    • Help to plan, design, and implement new operational processes. The Project Supervisor is instrumental in the process improvement of projects from start to finish.
  4. Maintain Strong Industry Knowledge
    • Stay abreast of current trends, pricing, and new technology in their industry to aid operations consultants in their evaluation and recommendation of new processes.
    • Understand business challenges and translate them into process/technical solutions.
  5. Lead Team
    • As a team leader, oversee the team member's work performance, offering guidance and advice where needed and providing necessary feedback to management.
    • Assist in employee appraisals, promotions, compensation, and termination based on the performance review of a team member.
    • Provide operational support and guidance to staff.
    • Conduct regular meetings with the team to discuss issues, concerns, updates, etc.
  6. Accounting and Finance
    • Assist in developing operating and capital budgets for projects.
    • Monitor and control expenses according to the allotted budget.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In charge of all the service engineers, foreman, and leadman.
  • Receive job order (J.O.) from Service Manager for works that are related to outside service products.
  • Communicate with the customer representative in charge of the service activity to obtain all necessary information that will be needed in the planning activities.
  • Confer with the production planner for the availability of manpower, tools, equipment, test instruments, and transportation services.
  • Plan and prepare production schedules for project implementation; draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet delivery dates according to sales commitment or customer needs.
  • Analyze equipment specifications, site condition, working condition, scope of activities, and allotted time of completion to design the appropriate work method and work schedule.
  • Prepare a list of all necessary documents, work-complying manpower, applicable and fitted tools, equipment, and test instruments properly checked and tested.
  • Submit the list to the production planner to be ready and dispatched as scheduled.
  • Prior to every mobilization, assemble the team and introduce the assigned field leader/foreman/leadman together with his official authority while discussing the company standard dispatching procedures and mandatory guidelines.
  • Daily monitor with the field leader/foreman/leadmen to update the status of ongoing projects with proper documentation and approve requests including manpower and overtime requests.
  • Constantly communicate with the customer representative reporting project development and to hear his side and observation.
  • As necessary, perform a site visit of the ongoing project for purposes of validation or meeting with the client.
  • Check, review, and approve service reports related to the outside service project and assure its early submission to the customer.
  • Plan for training, seminars, and other programs needed to improve personal and team member capability, capacity, skills, work ethics, character, and personality.
  • Source out new technology, equipment, test instruments, tools, and machines that will further boost the product being handled.
  • Assist the sales team in the office/plant or outside in product presentation to educate and enlighten understanding of work method and procedure in relation to the product being handled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Familiar with Microsoft MS Project.
  • Familiar with Customer Relation Management (CRM).

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION:

  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 2-5 years of working experience in a related field.
