Director of Business Development

The Business Development Director will drive the company's growth in the solar industry by identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic partnerships across the residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) sectors. This role will focus on market expansion, sales growth, and ensuring long-term business sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement business development strategies to meet growth and revenue objectives, particularly in solar.
- Identify and seize opportunities in new and existing markets, including geographic and vertical expansions.
- Build and manage strategic relationships with industry stakeholders like developers, financial institutions, utilities, and government entities.
- Oversee the sales pipeline from lead generation to closing, ensuring consistent business development opportunities.
- Align business development efforts with the sales team to drive major account management and negotiations for large projects.
- Lead contract negotiations, ensuring terms balance growth opportunities with risk management.
- Conduct in-depth market and competitor analysis to inform strategies and stay ahead of trends, regulations, and technologies.
- Work with technical, financial, and operational teams to align strategies with project capabilities.
- Lead and develop business development and sales teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years in business development, with 5+ years in the solar or renewable energy sector.
- Proven success in growth strategy development, team leadership, and high-value deal closures.
- Strong knowledge of solar project development, financing, and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in market expansion and securing new business partnerships.
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to convert market insights into actionable strategies.
