Responsibilities
- Configuring specific machine settings—including adjusting laser beam power, speed, focal point, gas pressure, and selecting lenses based on material thickness and properties.
- Inspecting finished workpieces using precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers to verify that parts adhere to strict geometric tolerances.
- Cleaning the machine, performing routine checks, and conducting basic troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
- Can read engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and cutting layouts to understand project requirements. Prepare and load design files into the laser cutter software.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational/technical training in metal fabrication.
- At least 1-2 years hands-on experience as Laser Machine Operator.
- Strong understanding of how different metals (such as stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum) react to heat and laser settings.
- Attention to fine details, strong mathematical skills for Spec calculation, and the ability to lift heavy materials safely.
